When I think of Reznor/Ross lately, I’m reminded of “In Motion” from their Academy Award winning score for The Social Network, the dark piano tones in “Hypomania” from The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, or the slow building craziness of “Technically, Missing” from the Gone Girl…
Tales From the Crypt Presents: Demon Knight (dir. by Ernest Dickerson)
I remember going to the movies for Demon Knight. I loved Tales from the Crypt on HBO, and the idea of a movie was cool at the time. My sister and my best friend joined me for the showing. It was treat to watch. I…
Love and Monsters (dir. by Michael Matthews)
Love and Monsters is a lighthearted monster film about stepping out of one’s shell, making some mistakes and growing along the way. O’Brien carries the film with humor and action, along with help from the supporting cast. It’s still a monster story, but it’s one just about anyone but the youngest of viewers can watch (and even then, it should be okay).

Pushing Through…
I’m pushing through a bit of Writer’s Block. After a friend informed me they’ve been reading the site, I’ve been a little hesitant to add anything. The whole reason for this site was to remove myself from the “audience”, and just write. I have a…
Farewell, Gary.
I received word from Lisa this evening over at The Shattered Lens that Gary Loggins, one of our writers, passed away over the weekend. I’m going to miss him. I’ve been in a bit of shock over the past few hours, alternating between tears…

In Memoriam – Ennio Morricone (Nov 10, 1928 – Jul 06, 2020)
I woke up this morning and found out that legendary composer and Academy Award Winner Ennio Morricone has passed away at the age of 91. Unfortunately, I haven’t the knowledge to fully give Morricone the justice he deserves. He was known mostly for his scores…

Hearing Damage – by Thom Yorke
With the Twilight movies on heavy rotation lately (and the rainy weather here in New York), Thom Yorke’s Hearing Damage deserves a replay. I like the contrast in this song. The melody’s a little rough, which sharp beats and notes. Yet, Yorke’s voice is pretty…

Sanctified (Live Version) – by Nine Inch Nails
“Another Nine Inch Nails song, Lenny?”, you might ask. “Yes, another Nine Inch Nails song.”, I’ll probably reply. Call it an addiction. I stumbled upon a live version of Sanctified (off of 1989’s Pretty Hate Machine) with an absolutely fantastic bassline, thanks to Pino Palladino…
