Well, this came out of left field. With last year’s adaptation of Stephen King’s “It” being a suprise success, it looks like Paramount is throwing their hat into the ring. Pet Sematary is a remake of Mary Lambert’s 1989 horror classic, and from the looks of the trailer captures all of the elements of both that film and of King’s 1983 Novel. Directed by Dennis Widmeyer and Kevin Kolsch (Starry Eyes), the film stars Jason Clarke (The Great Gatsby), Amy Seimtz (You’re Next) and John Lithgow (The Crown).
Pet Sematary is the tale of a family who arrives in a new home, only to find that it resides near a local cemetary with supernatural elements. It also looks like they cast a creepy Maine Coon for the role of the family cat, Church. A nice touch there. Enjoy. The film is set to release on April 5, 2019.
