When I think of Reznor/Ross lately, I’m reminded of “In Motion” from their Academy Award winning score for The Social Network, the dark piano tones in “Hypomania” from The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, or the slow building craziness of “Technically, Missing” from the Gone Girl…
I woke up this morning to find that Bo Burnham’s Eighth Grade won Best Original Screenplay at the Writer’s Guild of America Awards. I caught the film a few weeks ago on Amazon Prime, and it definitely deserved the Award. In celebration, we’re queuing up Pertubator’s “Future Club” off of their 2014 album “Dangerous Days”. Future Club is the kind of song you listen to when driving through the city at night, or flying over it in a hovercar. Fans of the film will remember it during the scene where Kayla (Elsie Fisher) first sets her eyes on her crush, Aidan (Luke Prael). Right after that scene, I looked up the song.
Enjoy.
