Respect the Wind (by Eddie and Alex Van Halen)

Today, reports have come in that Van Halen founder Eddie Van Halen passed away of cancer at 65. Regardless of where you stand on Van Halen overall (whether you prefer David Lee Roth’s vocals over Sammy Hagar’s), it was Eddie that brought some great sound to the band. I can’t speak as well about Van Halen as I can about other bands like Led Zeppelin or Foo Fighters, but when I think of the music, Respect the Wind was the first song that came to mind. There’s also Hot for Teacher, but I’ll save that for another time. He’ll be missed.

Created for the movie Twister, Eddie and Alex Van Halen’s song plays during the end credits. It’s a perfect song for a nighttime ride, or watching a storm late a night.
