I’ve mentioned the band Haim (which sounds a lot like ‘time’ or ‘L’Chaim’) on the site here before. They worked with Kid Cudi on Red Eye and have been around since 2007. Similarly, over at the Shattered Lens, Lisa also profiled their hit “Summer Girl” (also directed by Anderson). With Paul Thomas Anderson’s Licorice Pizza already playing in a limited run (and set for a Christmas wide release), I thought I’d share some of their music.
Valentine was a short directed by Anderson, covering some of the songs recorded for their 2017 LP “Something to Tell You”. Valentine features that song, along with “Nothing’s Wrong” and Right Now”. This was part of how he got to know the trio – Danielle (On Lead Vocals, Guitar and Drums), Este (Vocals, Bass and Drums) and Alana (Vocals, Guitar and Drums).
It’s a fun jam session to watch, with everyone really getting into the music and just grooving.
Enjoy!
