Child of Love (by Joss Ackland, Mary Hylan, George Gilmour and Chorus)
I found out last night through that actor (and singer) Joss Ackland passed away at the age of 95. He’s mostly remembered for his roles as a villain in Lethal Weapon 2, The Hunt for Red October and in the Mighty Ducks films. The Apple...
Ryan Gosling’s tackling wild stunts in The Fall Guy trailer!
Back in the 1980s, nestled between shows like The A-Team, Miami Vice, Matt Houston and McGuyver, you had The Fall Guy. It starred Lee Majors (The Six Million Dollar Man) as a stunt man who worked part time as a bail bondsman to keep himself...

Heavy Metal (by Sammy Hagar)

Okay, to understand how I got here, you have to first experience the fun and wonder of YouTube’s The Try Channel. I stumbled onto them a few years ago after telling my cousin about Jagrmeister and doing a YouTube search. It’s basically a group of friends from Ireland who try out different drinks and foods from around the world. They’re a fun group to watch, especially when paired off with one another. I highly recommend giving them a view.

Earlier this week, the group focused on Celebrity Alcohol, and one of the drinks was from Van Halen’s Sammy Hagar. Colin (who also is one of the Try Channel producers) showcased a great Sammy Hagar impression to Ciara, and since I didn’t know the song, I searched for it. The song itself was from 1981’s Heavy Metal, based off the magazine of the same name.

Lyrics:

Head bangers in leather
Sparks fly in the dead of the night
It all comes together
When they shoot out the lights
50, 000 watts of power
And it’s pushin’ overload
The beast is ready to devour
All the metal they can hold
Reachin’ overload
Start to explode

It’s your one way ticket to midnight
Call it Heavy Metal
Higher than high, feelin’ just right
Call it Heavy Metal
Desperation on a red line
Call it Heavy Metal noise

Tight pants and lipstick
She’s riding on razor’s edge
She holds her own against the boys
Yea, cuts through the crowd just like a wedge
Oh, can you feel the static
So many contacts being made
We’ve got up front fanatics
Tearing down the barricade
To reach the stage
Can you feel the rage

It’s your one way ticket to midnight
Call it Heavy Metal
Higher than high, feelin’ just right
Call it Heavy Metal
Desperation on a red line
Call it Heavy Metal noise
